ICTR: Nshogoza: Trial Judgment Upheld

2010-03-15, Arusha, Tanzania. ICTR AC dismissed Nshogoza’s appeal in its entirety. Nshogoza, a former investigator in the defence team of Jean de Dieu Kamuhanda, former Minister for Higher Education, was convicted in July 2009 for meeting with protected OTP witnesses in disregard of protective measures. His 10-month sentence was also affirmed on appeal.

ICC: Lubanga: Sixth Defence Witness Testifies

2010-03-03, The Hague, The Netherlands. The sixth defence witness was testifying today at the Lubanga Trial. The witness testified to being a member of the UPC (the Union of Congolese Patriots) until 2003, when he joined  FAPC (Peoples’ Armed Forces of Congo). Most of the witness’ testify was in closed session. During the open session, the examination-in-chief by Lubanga’s defence counsel, Jean-Marie Biju-Duval, was centered about the witness’ relationship with his family.
